Meeting Highlights - January 6, 2018

Meeting was opened

The meeting was opened and the Pledge of Allegiance was lead by President, Mike O'Reilly.

New attendees and new members were welcomed.

Our speaker was Deanna Matherne, the volunteer supervisor with CASA of Galveston County.

Old Business

Mary Ruthe read the November minutes and Sue presented the Treasurers reports for November and December. Both were approved.

Winners of the December Holiday Lights contest were announced. The winners of the dry lot were Mike & Angelica Milner on Fort Bend and winners of the canal lot were Terry & Brenda Crocker on Brewster Key.
Diana provided an update on a successful Christmas party and Sue provided an update on the Memorial Bricks Projects. Ten bricks have been installed in the walkway.

Mike opened the floor for a discussion on the Planters Bunch new name contest. Ballots were cast and a run-off of the top 3 names is planned for the February meeting.

New Business

Committee Chairs reported on upcoming events including the Spaghetti Supper, Chili Cook-off, & Rummage Sale.

JD would like to see if there is enough interest in An Arts and Crafts Sale the Saturday of Memorial Day week-end. A sign-up sheet will be circulated at the February meeting.
