Meeting Highlights - April 7, 2018

Meeting was opened

The meeting was opened and the Pledge of Allegiance was lead by President, Mike O'Reilly.

New attendees and new members were welcomed.

Guest speakers were Carolyn Sunseri and Dr. Jackie Cole, candidates for Galveston City Council, District 6.

Minutes and the Treasurers Report for March were read, accepted, and approved.

Committee Reports / Old Business

A new Welcoming Committee has been formed to welcome newcomers to Sea Isle.

Winners of the April Yard of the Month were announced. The winners of the dry lot were Steve and Suzy Parmley on Reeves and winners of the canal lot were Jim and Susan Graham on Lampasas

The Community Garden now has corn and collard green seedlings as well as new herbs. Flowering bed plants were planted at the SIPOA Office entrance, the fire station, and the community garden.

Andy reported on a successful Easter Egg Hunt which included crafts, games, and an egg hunt.

New Business

John Drewry reminded everyone to vote prior to the SIPOA Annual Meeting on May 19th

Sue reported that we only have 2 gardens lined up for the Garden Tour and we need 4-5 more for the tour to take place

Diana reported that she needs volunteers to move items for the Rummage Sale on Friday evening, April 27th and Saturday morning, April 28th.
