Meeting Highlights - March 2, 2019

Meeting was opened

The meeting was opened and the Pledge of Allegiance was lead by President, Clarence Peltier.

Clyde Longworth spoke about treasure hunting and gave a demonstration in the park following lunch.

Minutes and the Treasurers Report for February were read, accepted, and approved.

Committee Reports / Old Business

The Membership Committee reported that there are currently 213 members and that our 2019 membership drive is underway.

Winners of the March Yard of the Month were announced. The winners of the Dry lot were Hank and Roxanne Baumert on Reeves and the winner of the Canal lot was Curly Mermaid LLC on Guadalupe.

Tim Goggans reported on a successful Pancake Breakfast selling 85 plates and Esther McKenna reported on a successful Chili Cook-off raising over $7,000 for Planters Bunch.

New Business

The Shrimp Boil will be held Saturday, March 9th and all proceeds will be given to Lighthouse Charity.

Upcoming events were discussed including the Easter Egg Hunt and Rummage Sale.

Mike McBath reported that four seats on the SIPOA are up for reelection. Only one board memter is running so that leaves three open board seats. Candidates will be offered an opportunity to speak at the May Planters Bunch meeting.
